For the 1st time I froce fed my cb Cornuta. I have had this frog since 9-9-2008. This frog never ate a rodent (staple was Nightcrawlers), and stayed a healthy weight every winter, except this one. I watched as the weeks rolled by and he only ate once every few weeks. He became very skinny and weak. I pryed open his mouth with a plastic card and his mouth popped open. I watched as he refused the Dubia Cockroach but ingested the calcium that covered the roach. After 5 attempts or so he did eventually swallow the roach.

Do you have to force feed him again?

Do you have to force feed him again?
I don't think I will have to. At this time, he is plump. At this time of year, my frogs eat less. 2 weeks go by and they strike at the food I offer. If I do not see weight loss like I did this year, I have nothing to worry about.

R.I.P. My frog's eye sunk in its head last night. Today my CB Cornuta died. He was thin as a rail even though he ate a nightcrawler and a cockroach before he passed.

hi I am in australia and we have got our first lot of taddies in the house,we had 10,I feed them fish food and they were doing great. One night I saw a frog on the barrel I set up for them but he still had long tail so I left him in with taddies, next day he was gone,so I checked and 3 of the 10 were gone.I moved them into another tank I st up with Bromelaides and nice wooden log, stone beach and 1/2 under water.I just dont know exactly what to put in for them to eat.I have thrown in flies, moths and other bugs out of the long grass. Can you give me any tips to help me catch more insects in our garden where these frogs live and bred.Misha

I'm sorry to hear about your Cornuta! I'm sure you did everything you could to give him a happy life. You should be proud. These frogs are not the easiest to get to eat.
