Also would strongly suggest covering the sides, I see he's already got some nose damage. If nothing else take some kinda background to the sides and back, might keep him from hitting the glass. Prolly enjoy it for a short time but definitely will need to be upgraded.

That would flash a warning sign to me. Does he eat fine for you? Ever show signs of gaining weight? Great tank tho it looks awesome. Yea you might have to upgrade again but you can save what you did and use the tank for something else later. ALso use black construction paper and cover the back and sides to prevent your little guy from rubbing his nose on the glass. Otherwise great tank

He is constantly hungry, not matter how much I feed him he always wants more. So yeah, he eats fine. And he is a chubby little fella. How much should I be feeding him everyday? I feed him 6 medium crickets everyday. Should I be feeding him more?

He is constantly hungry

If he is constantly hungry and not growing he might have some sort of parasite inside of him preventing him from gaining the nuetrients needed for him to grow. He should be bigger than that by now. Maybe ask a vet what is out there you can use. If it is a parasite doing this he will not live full life. I would check into this and get a fecal sample for your vet to look at.

I don't have a vet, and I have never had one. If one of my pets gets sick I wait till it looks like it is in pain and then go and have it put to sleep. You don't need to pour tons of money into pets. If it dies it dies. It's a pet not a person.........

You can always sell it to a pet shop or trade it for another Water Dragon. Hopefully you can get one that is captive bred and doesn't have parasites. Nice setup. There are people who cannot keep their Water Dragons and they end up for adoption on criaglist website and petfinder.com

That's the worst mentality to have for animals that require more care than just food and water....... the water dragon would be better off in the hands of somebody that would be willing to work with him in the case of something going wrong. The nose rubbing can led to things like mouth rot. Looks like you have a very young male, he will get around ~30" give or take which looks pretty much the size of your tank.

Also curious what kind of lighting do you have for him?

Wow that is the worst attitude. You should be more responsible than that. You dont buy animals to just let them die when they get sick. And what makes people so much better than any other animal? We are animals to you know.

To all of you:

Okay listen, Lets say you have a pet and it gets sick. what I would do is: do all I can(meaning not going to the vet) to make is comfortable,THEN take it to a nonexpensive vet and have them put it down. what I meant by not going to a vet is that not to have the vet fix it. anyway the pets I have had haven't gotten sick before. when mine get old and crippled I take then and have them put down. Now I have a cat that I think has cancer. if she does have cancer I will just do all I can to make her comfortable then have her put down. back in the old days if a dog or some pet got sick they would just take it out and shoot it.....

Dcravens~ it is just a regular heat lamp you can get at a store or petstore.....

So no type of UVB lighting on him at all? What kind of calcium are you using for the crickets?

All reptiles need it a little heat. so I thought a heat lamp would work fine. reptile calcium.....

Water dragons also need uvb lighting as well, which would explain why your guy has not grown any. UVB lighting helps them process the vitamins needed to absorb calcium, without it they cannot utilize calcium from food and begin to absorb calcium from their own bones causing MBD. I'm guessing the whole time you haven't had him he has not had uvb? Yes most reptiles need heat lamps which provide UVA, but a lot of day species require the uvb as well.

I would really get the guy checked out to ensure that his bone structure has not deteriorated, and get the correct lighting for your guy. MBD untreated can lead to a slow painful death. IF you are unable/unwilling to get him the proper care please find somebody that will.

I don't mean to be rude but you are ridiculous. You clearly don't know much about the animal you own.

"All reptiles need it a little heat. so I thought a heat lamp would work fine. reptile calcium....."

All reptiles need heat, and many need UVA and/or UVB. And they need calcium as well as other supplements because the feeder insects can fully meet their nutritional needs.

I would suggest that you look up some information on Chinese water dragons!
