Mine used to do it all the time in their regular tank, every spring. I had tadpoles I would find, but I never raised any -- it was always a surprise. I cannot tell you where they laid the eggs, as I never saw any. They lived in a tank with no aeration, with a few nice hides down at the bottom, silk plants, and the occasional Kuhli Loach. When they started singing at night, pretty soon I would find tadpoles. No suction -- that way the eggs don't get sucked up from where ever they deposit them. Room temperature was too cool, so I always had a tank heater in there to bring it up to recommended heat. (It has been so long ago that I have forgotten the exact temp, but I looked it up then.) I had five males to three females in that tank. I lost a bunch of the tads because they sank into the gravel, and could not get out. I would remove it, if I ever do that kind of frog again. Good luck.

ADF's "sing"? Do they float to the top to do this? Mine are about 1.5 years in tank and only jolt to the top occasionally. Usually sifting through sand and flipping over pebbles.

Yes, ADF's do sing. I assume that it is the males, but as I heard it from the next room, I could not see for sure. It is really quite a pleasant sound.

I looked up breeding ADFs awhile ago. The tads are carnivorous if I remember correctly. You need to find tiny prey like baby brine shrimp for them to munch on. Again, I could have my frogs mixed it. It's been some time.
