So even though I sold off my beloved breeding group 1.3 LTC asperum I do have a group of 10 cb holdbacks that have just reached 1 year. all ten morphed between jan 27 and march 1, 2010. so far I have barley been able to catch one calling but I think the group is 2.8.

I just finished building 5 of these 30 gal. slideing door vivs and had to try one out.

I think you should put the group to work so I can aquire froglets
Very nice set up! Using just a mister no water bowl or feature?

do you have a build thread somewhere for the tank? I want to make a sliding door tank like that, and have read through most builds on DB, but none are too appealing to me

Beth-how are the ones doing you got at the bloomington show from me. I know I said at least 2 for sure were males. With the mister they will get plenty of water but I will hand mist the frogs directly when I can just because they dont mind at all. also there is no zip drip valve yet in the misting system so it drips a bit when it shuts off . I am going to put a shallow dish under it to keep from over saturating the substrate underneath it. this will also give a shallow puddle for them to play in if they like. This is not a perm. cage. hence the simplicity of it. I wanted to be able to tear it down and sterilize it easily for other frogs. no drainage layer either just a few inches of a mix just like I use for my darts.

cherisse- no build thread I figured there are enough out there but Once I did these 30 gals I decided to tear off the doors on the 40 gal verts I have sitting allready ready to be set up. they were a Hinged style like junglebox makes and I wanted to make slideing doors from the getgo but had no track and no idea what to do. I actually got the doors on the 40's to go on the inside AND outside of the trim makeing a perfect seal on each side.

I will try to snap a few pictures of the 40's and of how I used the track soon and post it up.

also on these 30's the trim was to thick to get the 1/8th inch doors on both sides so I had to lay the track all the way inside the trim.

Hey Eric, I don't remember on the males, thought you had said one was calling on the way to the show. Anyway I know I have one cause I hear calling all the time. My African Gray also mimic's the sound.
Am I going to have to break down and find froglets somewhere else
I am working on my set up ...... how deep can the water be if I have rocks, plant and stuff for them to climb out. They are good swimmers as I remember. I was thinking 2-3 inches possibley

no, I will be letting a few of these try and breed soon but it still takes a min. of 3 months for them to morph.. I may just pull out 2 females and catch the first calling male I can and introduce the 3 to a breeding tub. all are fat as hell and seem to be about full grown as far as length goes.
for the water go as deep as you like, no harm will be done. they are just as good as a swimmer as t. corticale and will spend time submerged just like corticale. they will climb right out the water on the glass, no rocks or plants needed for them to get out.

I'm really impressed. I've just about had it with top opening tanks. Really fed up with the otilophus tank, it's a godawful nightmare cleaning it, a weird shaped DEEP aquarium. I was thinking about having Protean make me something. Nice that you are gonna breed your holdbacks.I do want a group someday. Nice frogs. JVK

thank you. the 40 breeder verts turned out much better. I have 5 30's and 3 40's all with sliding glass doors that will need to be set up once we move.

rosie. I dont condone the mixing of any frogs so that would be a no.
I will not be vending but may pop in.

I don't mix frogs as a rule, but Novy said you can combine Marms and Clowns without problems, so I thought maybe these two would work out also.
