Thats debatable. I use distilled or RO water and have for years because it doesn't spot the glass and my tap water is very hard. Some people use bottled spring water.
Some people claim that because the water contains no minerals a frog soaking in the water will release vitamins and minerals to balance the water... But as I said I have used this water for years with no issues, no sudden deaths, no calcium deficiencies that I know of...
Wal-mart distilled water is processed by reverse osmosis and is like sixty cents a gallon. Best deal I have been able to find on it, if you can tolerate the tortures of the supercenter. Hey you can get your RO water, a cowboy hat, some bananas, fishing gear, a dwarf frog, a hair cut and your oil changed without leaving the store. Talk about efficiency!
