I purchased my first D.Auratus two weeks ago. He was doing well when i went out of town on friday and when i returned sunday he wasn't moveing. He is alive but apears to have lost full use of his arms and legs, he looks like he's almost partially paralized. I looked in his cage and discovered a white fuzzy mold, so i've removed him from his cage and have him in a humid warm container. I mist him frequently and have placed him in sugar water, but he does not appear to be getting any better. Is there any way to save him?

you should try force feeding him. open his mouth up with a credit card and slide a pinhead cricket dusted in calcium powder into his mouth. do this very carefully, as not to damage the little guy. i hope he accepts the food. he will starve to death if he can't move. i'm afraid there is not much to do for him if he hasn't moved for that long.

Does he look bloated at all? or normal without use of legs?

i think the little guy has been able to catch a few of the flies i stick in his cage. He does appear to be a little boated. I have not been dusting his food with calcium powder. I have only had him for a little over 2 weeks now. Maybe this is the problem. Where can i find a good calcium supliment?

You can find calcium powder at your local pet stores usually. I believe it costs about $10. I'm not 100% sure on the price, I buy about 3-4 dozen a week and have half of them dusted by the shop, for immediate feeding. So I havent had to buy any powder yet. If you are feeding crix, you can also gut load them with calcium enriched cricket food, and water supplement (its a blue gel that costs about $5-7) I use the gel, with my remaning crix in leiu of a water dish (buggers like to drown themselves to much).
