He was FINE this morning... seemed happy, moving around & now He is unresponsive. Something makes Me think He is hibernating - but HOW TO TELL???

He's been living in a bowl on My desk at the office for about 6 months... He stopped eating much & the AC has gotten cold in here, so TODAY I brought up a 10 gallon that has one of those reptile heaters stuck on the bottom, that I used for an iguana years ago.... Did I shock His system?

There were 3 crickets in there this morning, now there is only ONE.
But My Pacman's EYES are like CLOSED beyond CLOSED.... and He did not respond when I picked Him up.

He is not moving or anything....

What substrate are you using? what else but crickets are you feeding? how often do you change his water?

Well for starters, a bowl is not sufficient for a pacman frog. Also the heat mats are bad for these frogs. They need over head heating.

What are the temps? Humidity? Substrate?

Can you post pics?

Try sitting him gently into a shallow bowl of luke warm water. See what his reaction is.

Welcome to the Frog.

Substrate has always been that coconut fiber stuff... kept moist/wet.
When I got Him He was in that, sort of soupy water consistency, so I've sort of maintained that.... I read that They drink thru Their skin.

Change the substrate every couple of weeks.... maybe 3? He seems more content the less I mess with Him. So I just sort of let Him BE A FROG.

He was in a larger glass container for awhile, but I dropped it after cleaning one day & the goldfish bowl was just handy at the time. And He like rarely moves around much unless is feeding time.

There were 2 crickets on/near Him when I left after lunch...He was awake and moving around then. About 5pm I noticed His eyes are sunk closed & those crickets are gone. (There were 3, now there is just one... it started out as about 12 of them a week ago....He hasn't been eating as much as He used too seems like?)

I picked Him up - He feels like COMA, but the look of His eyes being flat makes Me wonder??????? But if He died would He have bothered to SHUT His eyes?

I brought up the 10 gallon yesterday that has that warmer on the bottom thinking He would be happy I finally got Him somewhere warm to go.... There's plenty of area to get away from it, if He wanted. He went right to the warm area (warm as in luke warm) and was bouncing around a bit.

Guess I'll know for sure if He actually CROAKED in a day or few...???

I've had Him like um? longer than 6 months???? AWHILE, not quite a year. He's been FINE all this time & the DAY I change His environment He winds up looking dead?????? That was awful quick???!

I have been feeding Him crickets from the pet store - that have that calcium powder on Them... He used to eat those crawly worms that come 50 to a container, but He stopped paying attention to them. And he was not interested in a little fish at all.... He is about 2" circular.

I sure hope I didn't kill Him on accident.... but then I think, frogs aren't wimpy out in the world.... They have survival skills. So, maybe He's just surviving????

What is the temp/humidity? If he seemed to do better in the warm water, I would keep doing that, it may be a digestion issue? I'm curious if he ate a bunch of meal worms recently? I switched my pixies off of them when I heard of deaths by them getting clogged up. Scared me so bad i through out my meal worms.

Nope, He hasn't eaten any worms in a month or so... just crickets.

The water was room temp before I put Him in the 10 gallon yesterday..... which wound up being WARMER than what He was used to having.

I had thought He would be happier with some warmth via the reptile warmer on the bottom of the tank??? But the same day He stopped moving at all.

UG, Yeah, DEAD....

I guess I let Him be too cold......? (They remodeled the office & it got freezing in here lately)

Thanks for the info... I should have asked sooner, I guess.
