I know that ammonia can affect frogs, but what about nitrites and nitrates?

Thanks!

Well I can't remember which one it is off the top of my head, but either nitrites or nitrates is harmful to fish and the other is LESS harmful, but it can also be harmful in large amounts, I don't know about frogs though.

nitrites is harmful to fish, nitrates are less so... but plants also eat up nitrates...
I ask because I have a bronze frog in a shallow aquatic set up with places to get out of the water... but I also have a lot of plants in the water. I was considering setting up an empty tank to feed ammonia for nitrates, and then adding some of that water to the tank for the plants.. but I'm worried that the nitrates may bother my little girl. Anyone have any idea?

If I remember this correctly, I think frogs are even less tolerant of nitrates and nitrites than fish because of their permeable skin that absorbs more from the water than that of fish. That, and they don't have the same protective slime coat, unless they're fully aquatic frogs (like ADFs, ACFs), because they might.

This is a Colchicine ? for sure, lol. He doesn't pop in here much but I would wager ou could get him to answer this on Kingsnake if u ask it there. As much as I have referring people to KS, Colchicine knows his stuff, and this just happens to be one of his ver strong areas of expertise. LOL
Hope that helps a bit.
