None of my babies have had this problem but I am curious if there's a specific reason this happens and is it avoidable. Are some types of frogs more prone to this then others?

It can be caused by a few things. Too large of a meal, eating the wrong substrate, too dehydrated, etc.

I don't know if some species are more prone to it or not.

How does one treat it? I just want to make sure so I can beware.

I think a vet is the best option here, but not everybody can afford to bring a frog that's had repeat prolapses. I know how expensive it can get... (my new parrotlet came in with mites and a respitory infection that wasn't obvious at the time...)

From what I have read, and I'm sure people who have dealt with it will chime in shortly and provide better answers, you can use a finger (with a glove on and not dry) to gently massage it back in.

I'm sure someone will correct me, I haven't had to deal with this either. I have more trouble with mbd. The frogs don't like the taste of powder... go figures. They usually wait until the little bit that is there is gone before chowing down.

I'd be interested to see a bit more of the answer though.
