It is on the cover of the book I am currently reading, I want one ! I am pretty sure it is a Poison Dart Frog, but which SP. ?

Mantella madagascariensis. It comes in on imports ever so often. Was sold heavily on kingsnake four months ago.

There is also a WC distributer in florida who has them for $25 or $30... Gosh can't think of the name of the place now. Will update if I remember.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure all Mantella's are native to Madagascar.

Yes, they are native to Madagascar... But they are very sensitive to heat. A couple years ago I had three mantellas die on me because I left for the day with the windows open, it got to 78 or 80 that day outside, it was spring and it was probably a few degrees cooler inside. I wasn't expecting it to get so warm out that early in the year, welcome to the midwest right? My darts were fine but the mantellas died huddled around the water dish.

I always warn potential buyers to beware of their extreme sensitivity to heat. Oh, and they are very shy, sometimes they can be hard to find in the enclosure.
