My dad told me the other day about this interesting fly/wasp "repellent" that his sister told him about. Anyways he wants to know if it actually works:

Basically what you do, is take a Zip-lock Bag, put a handful of pennies in it, and fill the rest of it up with water. And this is supposed to scare them off

Has anyone actually tried this? Did it work, or is this some sort of old-wives tale?

We had wasps BAD this past summer... I did LOADS of research for way to get rid of them. I actually tried the pennies in the water filled baggies and it did absolutely nothing! LOL I even tried several at a time.

Wasps eat spiders... if you can keep the spiders away, you'll keep the wasps away. I started keeping after the spiders and webs and eventually the wasp population seemed to back off
