We had one heck of a rain storm, knocked out power, blew over trees, and dumped a ton of rain, which consequently landed into my frog room. I've had water in there before, but this was....a lot. Last week there was supposed to be a subpump installed, so this wouldn't happen, but it got postponed. So, needless to say, I have been pumping water with a wet vac, which just burned up. I was then left to use a broom to push the water, until I finally just gave up. The rain has stopped and hopefully the water will be gone tomorrow, but right now I am exhausted and tired.

Yeah. My frog tanks are off the floor, except for my tort tank, but he was in the only dry spot in the basement, so he's okay. I had to lift the heater up off the floor, even though there are wheels and placed it onto a two by four.

Eric...I never thought I would be wishing for snow, but that would've been easier.

Do you have any contractor friends with a sump pump? I feel sorry for your shop vac! We had a nice little flood in our apartment building in spring, we borrowed a sump pump (ours failed, thus the flood).

The redfoot should be fine. I saw a vid of a yellowfoot swimming! I think on a National Geographic film. JVK

I feel really sorry for you, that's horrible! Makes me kinda happy not to have a basement when I hear things like this. Shop vac- RIP.
I glad all critters are safe and you be careful not to electrocute yourself!

Wick, don't fight it, you now have one big rainchamber, let the sex begin.

Hahaha... one track mind

I agree with Bill, sit back with a raincoat on, some nice mood music and watch the love fest begin.

Sorry to hear the news Wick! I hope that water does not mess up all your work. You have a nice collection in that basement.

Make sure Tammy is cycled first. Unless she is WC then have at it.

But be careful she doesn't get bacterial issues from all the stress etc.

Good Luck!
Mac

Ps. Now you have a big enough tank for the turtle hatchlings!!

Do you think we should send the Coast Guard? Wick has been MIA for a couple of days. Maybe he has been trapped by the tide of amplex ectoplasm

I'm here. Just been a fly on the wall for the last few days. Been busy, taking care of water, and adjusting to the fall temps, but all seems well. The water is all gone. I'll be putting the sub pump in hopefully this weekend.

Mac...she is definitely wild caught. LOL

We want pictures of you guys in amplexus and of the fertilizing. THEN we can mark you guys as proven breeders and charge more for you.

Nice to hear the water is gone. Best of luck through the winter for you and your plants and frogs.
