Guys, I have an African Meerkat that loves crickets but she eats about 30 a day so I will have to start breeding them. Can anyone tell me how long does crickets take from hatching to about 1cm in length?

i'd look into roaches. b. dubias are nice, fast reproduction, no noise, less stink, more meat... there's lots of threads here focused on breeding everything from crickets, to roaches, to beetles as feeders. Just do a quick forum search.

Where do you live that you were able to get an African meerkat? What's its personality like?

African Meerkat
you have a meerkat!!!!!!! i want one! im guessing your in europe then? one day ill get one. my prairie dogs make me happy till then. i would try mealworms, i see zoos feed them all the time and the meerkats love them. not sure on cricket breeding though.

I saw some of these a few years ago in England, kinda sad the shop keeper kept them in cages and available guides said to keep in cages otherwise they would destroy the house/property. Prices kept people from buying more than one. I can only imagine the hell they go through being a highly social animal that needs contact from its own species, living by itself.....

If a pet store says it, it must be true right?

I always thought that meerkats should be kept in groups? How would a single meerkat function socially? They are pretty complex colonial animals.
