On the 25th of Dec. my frog ate 2 LG crickets and 2 pieces of ham very little... smaller than the size of your average large cricket. feeding my frog ham probably not the wisest decsion I've made. I need real answers. He may be impacted due to the inability to process that amount of protien, however he is my first frog (Whites' Dumpy Tree Frog) he looks kinda uncomfortable. I don't know the signs to look for if he is sick. i have googled and googled but i believe that i am the first person to feed a frog pig, yes it sounds even ridiculous to me. what do i do???????? plz help thanks ~N
P.S. only respond if you can HELP. ie; bashing hateing or just plan mean responses are not want or needed at this time plz 'n' thx

If he has survived this long he will probably be ok. But remember they don't make frog cholesteral meds. good luck, Bill

Your lucky the high salt content of ham didn't kill him. Stick to feeder insects.

I'm on the same boat as bill, if he's survived this long after eating ham, I'd say he'll be fine. But, obviously....don't do that again. Ham is soooo salty and I am a bit shocked he didn't drop dead.

Whoever is telling you to keep feeding him ham obviously didn't read your original post. He probably looks uncomfortable because of what froggz37 said. Ham has too much salt for frogs. Salt makes frogs sick and can even kill them. One of my froglets almost died from feeding him a couple of small shrimp treats that were meant for turtles. There was nothing in the ingredients besides dried shrimp, but they were real salty. I had to nurse it back to health by hydrating it thoroughly.

Frogs don't have a problem with protein so unsalted meat should be fine, but don't feed it salt.
