sorry if this seems kind of stupid, but the internet is semi untrustable at times and you guy seem pretty ddang trustable, so how often and how many crickets, do i feed to whites tree frog and leopard gecko(i might possibly get one someday I love those guys, I know i'm pretty indecisive, first it was darts then retfs, now leopard geckos... but i think i have made up my mind if i get a new pet!)Sorry off topic.
So basically what ia m asking is how many crickets if I basically feed them every other day or 3 days. For wtf and leos. and where do you guys keep your crickets when you don't have to feed them right away, cuz mine seem to escape,I found like 2 evry night before I went to bed and the rest died...

Darth,

Here's a very awesome caresheet for your White TF, as far as feeding and the like goes:

http://allaboutfrogs.org/info/species/whites.html

As far as the Geos go, I don't have much experience, if at any with those little guys.... but I found a pretty detailed (in my opinion... lol) care sheet on these guys...

Alot of our forum members own Geos, so they'll beable to assist you in more drawn out information than me. However, this is all I could tell you, sorry :P

I think , as far as I know with experiences with almost all frog species is that 4-5 for juvies and 2-3 for adults , and for adults every day or so.

That, I have a feeling I'll get recorrected on but that is okay. =) If i get re-corrected, I'll know for future reference, and we both learn something!

You're welcome by the way.

How many crickets to feed is a relative thing. That is to say, the amount of crickets to be fed depends on the individual frog. Start with 2-3 crickets, then add one at a time more until they stop eating. Large frogs will eat more than smaller frogs, large females more than smaller males.

It is important to feed juveniles as much as they want to eat to promote healthy growth. This can also be followed by adults 2-3 times per week so long as you do not notice an obesity problem. Obesity can lead to organ failure, premature death, shorten life expectancy, etc. So if you don't have a problem with obesity or a growing frog, feed however much they want to eat.

After a few feedings you will get a good idea how much your frog likes to eat. If your frog is a juvenile you may want to up the amount after a while.

Here is a caresheet provided by the forum admins:

You can use a Rubbermaid tub or cricket keeper depending on the number you keep.

I have found that the ones from pet shops don't seem to last at all, so you basically need to gutload and then feed them relatively soon after purchasing. They also tend to be quite expensive at store (6-10 cents a piece)

I and most people I know tend to buy online. You can get 1000 of whatever size shipped to your house for $16.99 from LLLReptile. You can even purchase their feed and water gel. Just keep them in a 20gal Rubbermaid tub, I put mine in the basement, so if a couple escape they don't last long and don't do any harm.

Buying online saves the hassle of taking time to go to the store and gas which for me more than pays for them. I buy 1/2" and they last around 6 weeks for 2 frogs and 2 geckos. There is very little die off.

the leopard gecko that the baby's momma had didn't eat crix when full grown, they moved too fast so it's staple diet was worms (meal and super). I was not impressed with the leo, they move slow and don't do much, I much prefer hide-and-seek with my gray tree frogs...

my whites get anywhere from 3 - 10 crickets depending on the size of the cricket. I order mine at 1/4 inch but they usually get to be at least an inch by the time they are all gone. And i feed every 3 days. I was feeding every day, but most of them seemed uninterested in eating that often.

Its a lot of trial and error. If you see them getting fat (the ridge is growing over most of the ear drum) cut back.

I have one frog that gets way more crickets than any of the others and she never seems to put on weight. I had her checked for parasites, but she tested negative.

Try to vary the diet as well. I supplement mealworms and small earthworms. All gutloaded.
