Okay. just to make things a bit easier on myself, I have read through most of the new posts and would like to say:
Troy, I am so sorry about your babies but you are going through a learning process for which they are giving you an invaluable source of information - I know it's rough but will all be well worth it in the end. Keep your chin up.
Whit: Good to see you back on here, and to see your spirits so good - not that I can say it surprises me though. You already know the rest......
Heatherposer: Great news about Paulie, glad things are doing as they are, you're doing a great job, hang in there and I'm rooting for you both. Keep it up.
Now for another update:
George had another test done and we got a call that the test found he has some abnormal electrical activity in his heart and they were taking him to surgery to place an afibrillator (kinda like a pacemaker) which will shock his heart anytime the abnormality occurs and prevent a heart attack. He went through the procedure fine and should be able to go home tomorrow - still unsure of the permanent effects or exactly what has caused the problem, but it's seemingly fixed.
On the way out the door to go be with George, we get a phone call from my doc saying my levels had gone from 980 - 1703 - 960 and that I needed to go to ER right away. Good thing mine and George doctors both go to the same hospital. Poor hubby, me on one floor and his dad on another. Anyhoo, my levels are now 1603 - should be around 6000 now and the bleeding still has not gone away for good and they don't know why BUT the baby has a heart beat and all looks fine with her (wishful thinking ), I got pregnant the day after Cate left and I go back to the OB/GYN on Thursday. So all in all, okay news after a very bad day - oh yeah, forgot that my brother is presently in the ER to have the end of his thumb sewn back on......and now I'm off to sleep.

Yeah, sounds like you need to just zone for awhile. I know, easier said than done, but do try to focus on pleasant moments and get rest.

Becki,
Did you happen to have an u/s done before? Your test numbers sound to me like you may have had a twin in there, too. Sometimes the twin that stalls out just reabsorbs, other times it bleeds out. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad your baby has a heartbeat, though! Seriously, I am here to talk to if ya want more information on such things. This pregnancy started out as a twin pregnancy. Thankfully, when the one stalled, it reabsorbed. If I'd bled, I would have been a BASKET CASE! Please let me know if I can give you more info on such things.
Getting pregnant has been the focus of my life for two full years...and I belong to MANY support boards and lists. If I don't have the answers for ya', I can prolly find em for you.
Big hugs sweetie!
Sandee

OH MY!
The excitement just never ends for you does it? So glad to hear that Goerge is going to be ok and there's still a strong heartbeat! I guess your bro must have just felt left out on all the attention though... Had to go and whack his thumb off & try to steal the spotlight ey? hehe

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement as well. I have just been soooooo moody lately. My mother insists I be checked for male PMS. LOL Was just on sort of a really low period when all sorts of news came crashing @ me that I'd rather not hear and then found my froglets like that. But I've come to terms and there's no need to give up on the other 48 of em. I just love these guys & will do anything to see them through to the end.

Quick question if you don't mind though... with Goerge's heart problem, does his heart just beat spiratically without rythm or spead up sometimes or what? It sounds a bit similar to a procedure my mother was supposed to have to fix her tachycardia issues. Her heart used to just out of nowhere spead up to like 300-350 beats a minute & they would have to stop it & restart it to get it back to normal. However, it turned out a medication she was on was causing it. Anywho, just wondering what sort of symptoms he's experiancing. The medical field just fascinates me with all these bio-electronics.

Be sure and keep us posted on any new developments. We're all pullin' for ya!

Becki, sounds like your family maybe provides the hospital with a third of its income, huh? Anyway, good to hear everything sounds solved for your father-in-law and that they found the baby's heart beat! That has to be sooo great.

Sandee, they did the first u/s last week and it only showed one fetus so if there was a twin there was no sign of it then. Thanks so much for the kind words and offers of help - good to knoe you're there is I need you.
Troy, his symptoms were shortness of breath, dizziness, sweating, general malaise and his heart beat would spped up suddenly, skip a beat here, add a beat there - just very sporadic.
As for me today, I'm presently being made to sit with my feet propped up as the bleeding picked up a bit and - well some other not so pleasant details I'll leave out - so we're taking it easy until my appt tomorrow. Hopefully they can sort all of this out then.
George is home and doing okay, a bit tired but okay. He will be able to return to light duty at work on Monday and will need a few meds to help keep everything maintained.
Thanks again guys for all the support. I'll keep you posted.

Becki,
I will be home in the evening tomorrow (Weds) if you wouldn't mind letting me call ya. Sometimes, depending on if they do an "internal" ultrasound or an external can make all the difference in the world. The externals are great once you pass 12 weeks...but before then, are unreliable. Also, it is not unusual for one twin to hide behind the other. Especially early on in the pregnancy. My suspician is if it was not a twin, you've had some seperation of the placenta (placental abruption). While not necessarily life threatening for the baby, it most definitely is cause for concern and caution. I think having your feets up is a capitol idea! Besides, not only are you taking it easy, but hey, no major chores for YOU! Like I said, I'm not a doctor, so I hope they can tell you more on what is going on, but seriously...I have been immersed in the process of making babies for SO long now! There is a Yahoo support group for high risk pregnancy, too. If you are interested, I'd be glad to provide the link. Sweetie, PLEASE let me know what you find out and if there is ANYTHING I can do for ya!!!!
If nothing else, I can lend an ear (icky details and all are welcome) and offer what I know.
I'm so worried about ya!
I'd say "big hugs" but, that could do more harm than good in person.
I'll be thinking about you and wondering what they find...

Thanks Sandee. I have aol now so I'll try to IM you when I get home - save on a phone bill. If I don't catch you I'll mail you my number. They did do the internal u/s both times. They checked around quite a bit more the first time - checked both ovaries for an ectopic pregnancy, etc but the 2nd time as soon as she insertrd the lead I saw the beat flashing and she just stayed there measuring the baby etc. I know how the game of ER goes - they aren't geared to answer or deal with the whole picture as they just treat the emergent and send you on your way so I didn't ask the 1000 questions I have to try to sort it all. But, I will today. I've never seen this doc but he's supposed to be a high risk specialist so we'll see how it goes. I definitely intend to have alot more insight by the time I leave there today. Thanks again sweetie.

OMG- I hate that i can not be here more. Becki, I'm glad to hear there is a heartbeat now. I like sandee started with twins but one .about 5 weeks into it. I honestly don't know how your doing it girl, with the boys and father in law and brother, but you're a trooper. So you just relax and let everyone else spoil you for a while. You deserve and need the rest. Email or call me anytime, I'm home all day now and always glad to lend an ear. And sorry if i'm not here guys but my laptop is broke and i can not use my desktop from the bed or couch.
