I can't decide whether to get a Pacman or a Pixie frog- i want one that gets big, likes to eat, and is not hyperactive. I've heard Pixies are just a tad more active than Pacmans. Which are bigger? If you had both, which did youi\ prefer?

I like pyxies, if you get a couple of them young/same size you can keep them togehter in the same tank. pacmans you can only have one. I think Pyxie are better, when you get them real big and huge you can make a good amount of $$$$ on them if you want to get rid of it.

what do big pixies sell for?
Can pixies and pacmen be kept together, or will they eat each other?

^NOOOO mixing. It is POSSIBLE to keep several pyxies together, but someone who doesn't know what they're doing shouldn't even try that. I actually prefer my pyxies over my pacmans although the pacmans are much prettier. Why would you raise a pyxie to sell it? The money you've spent on food and everything getting it to that point and the frog itself, you'd probably just break even. And thats if it was a male. The females would only go for a little more than a new baby, maybe like $50. Big males pyxies have been sold for like $300 or so, but whoever bought that was a serious sucker, and I wouldn't expect to be able to sell a pyxie for that much.

i said you can sell it because some people later on down the road have to get rid of their frogs. I was just saying that in case you had to get rid of it, you can make more cash of it than a pacman.

I have several of both species. I like the pyxies better, but that's a personal thing. Full grown male pyxies will cost you an arm and a leg. I have seen them sell for upwards of 400 bucks before. Way too high for me, but to each his own. It's far more fun to raise your own. Like stated before though, rasing them to adult just to sale will wind up costing you more than you get out of the adult in most cases unless you just find soeone with little brains and big money. A more ralistic price is $250 and under for adults, and even that is too much in most cases because you have no idea on the diet it was raised on.

Sounds to me like you should get the one that will eat the biggest variety of stuff, mice, lizards, yesterdays paper. . . .

Pyxie, they are very perky when it comes to food. Pacman's can be a little hesitant when it comes to food, such as a C. Cranwelli.

The other option is a toad...They are very common where I live and I suppose I could capture one..But then again-a wild toad or frog might not adapt as well to confinement as one bred for a lefe as a pet.......

I knew Pacman and Pyxie frogs grow to be HUGE, but cane toads seem to get just as big- sadly a scorge down in Australia, but a lovely animal nonetheless...

Pacman frogs don't necessarily get HUGE.

I have both and I say go for the Pyxie if you want a fun frog. Granted my pacman to me is personally more visually pleasing, then again I rarely see him, he just keeps me up croaking.

Even breeding can cost alot more in the long run.

If Your looking for a good feeder with some spunk, You will have a better chance with the pyxie.

If Your into the nice colors and markings of the pacman, I would atleast suggest an ornate. They can be pretty fun at times as well!!

Pacmans are pretty and pyxies get huge. I'd vote pyxie if I could only have one of them.

I dont like the look of the pacmans...i think they look funny. i have a pixie and she is one of the ugliest thing iv ever seen but she's so ugly shes so cute!!! I know that sounds wierd but its true. lol so i vote on a pixie. as for them being active mine just buries herself and eats...doesnt really do all that much. though i have noticed she gets vocal at night and when my wtf in my other tank hear her they start being vocal too so i just get a chorus at night not too bad thought.
