Hi there,

I'm about to start setting up a new terrarium in an old glass tank I have. It's small (16"x10"x12") so I don't know what species can be housed there. It'll be 3/4 land setup, 2 wall isolation foam background furnished with small and medium leafed plants and a few branches, and mossy substrate. The water part will be shallow, like 1 inch deep.

I thought about an Hyperolius species but I read that most of them are wild caught, so I'm having second thoughts about that.

What do you recomend?

PS - I already have FBT's

You could have some small dart frogs. Like R. Reticulata or O. Pumilio.
They are beautiful.

Geckos, dartfrogs and other frogs.

Pumilio in a tank that small?? Dont think it will work too well.
Not really big enough for retics either.

I sometimes go to my own little world, but that's okay, they know me there

I'm not confident enough to go to the dartfrogs right now.
I'm a frog keeper for less than a year and besides, they're way too expensive.

That's pretty small. Is there anyway you could just buy a larger one?

I wouldn't even put reeds in it.

I just didn't want to spend more money with this. This month I already spent a lot with the S. marmorata and the FBT terrarium.

It's just that I have that tank lying there and I had a really sweet idea for a setup. When that happens I just want to start working on it

Guess I must forget the idea then, or maybe I'll set it and look for a nice small Mantid later.

Thanks for the advice anyway
