I talked to him already. Im buying some Hyla marmoratas off of him but he says his waiting list is already over extended so i would have to wait til next time he breeds his clowns. Thats kinda too long for me to wait. But i guess im gonna have to. Nobody seems to have them right now. Know anyone else?

Well see..
hehe.. And Ive got some financial problems right now, so im a lil strapped for cash..
How many clowns can I put in a 18x18x24 or sumthing like that enclosure??

Sincerely, Andrea.

in the very beginning.. But i dont know which one it was...
So i am pretending they are female and males.. i am only guessing..
i know. You cant tell unless they call!
I do realize that... but I had to name them.. and so yeh..
Do you know any other way to figure out what they are??

Like I've hear that females are larger then males... Which is what im going off of at the moment.. i know I have at least 1 male.. sooo...

Sincerely, Andrea.

what i was getting at is you should try to breed them. you could raise your land area a little, giving you more room for your water area. you could increase your misting to simulate a rainy season. clowns breed like red eyes. they lay there eggs on the leaves.

Oh really?? i didnt even know that..
But im scared to breed them... What if i do something wrong..
And I dunno.. Itd be easy to raise my land..their are even a plant with leaves in my water area.. and I could easily make it rain more often.. That would be the easy part...
But hmmm...
What would I do with all the babies?? And how do i take care of them once they are layed on the leaves...
im scared.... hehe..
what does the temp have to be at??
how often does it have to rain in the tank??

If you give me all the info mem, then i might think about it!!

Sincerely, Andrea.

Clown treefrog eggs basically take care of themselves! Once they hatch, it's just a matter of keeping the tads fed, the water relatively clean (be careful of overfeeding!) and the temps and water quality constant. I keep my adults, babies, and tads all at room temp (thermostat at 72). Mike Novy is very good about answering questions so maybe give him a call, and if you're going to start with breeding a tropical frog, clowns are a good one to start Rainchambers are popular so you don't have to mess up a nice set up tank (that they stay in the rest of the year) but you'll have to cycle them and put them in at the right time. I kinda cheat a bit tho in that I've designed most of my tanks to be able to be flooded.

Oddly enough Black Jungle had hourglass treefrog froglets at FrogDay this past weekend! They aren't on the site, and sold almost if not all of the babies. But not after I grabbed 5 of the biggest I'm hoping I get a female so I can breed them along with my other treefrogs. I'm just gonna stack my bedroom with tadpole tubs
