I love my millipedes. They are my little composters of all things past their prime. Great little pets.

There is this thing going around as well that they are not going to be coming in anymore, well its partially true. They are NOT coming in through the LA and Miami airports anymore. BUT, they are still coming in through the Texas airports. So..dont buy into anyone selling you on the fact that they are going to be rare etc. They are well established in the US and will/would be avl. CB for years to come.

They are a quiet, little pet that is a GREAT beginner pet for anyone looking into bugs or something along the lines of the hermit crab etc. They, in my opinion are a 100X better then the crab.

No, thats a fair price. Its funny the guys that are telling people this at a few of the shows are still selling them for$5-8 ea. Usually when we hear things like.."Pancake torts are done being imported!" The 18 I had that I just bought for $20 ea. now became $350 ea. So it goes to show that sometimes they cant turn everything into a cash cow.

The ban on importation was put in place by the USDA, so I don't see how they are still coming in from the texas, unless they are confused/unaware of the laws regarding them.

The shed photos I posted are of my Ghana Red Banded Millipedes, that I picked up in Oct, the vendor said they were part of a shipment that made it thru by mistake. I can see that some are still making it on accident, but per the USDA it is illegal.

Loads of species are available as CB, although some like the Giant African Blacks tripled in price. And unfortunately there is no more access to Pill Millipedes which no one has been able to establish with success.

Correct, and yet they still come in through Texas. $6 ea at the Indy show this past weekend. Vendor even stated it was funny but no issues landing them in Texas.

I have not seen the pill bugs in years. I never could get them to breed or even live for long periods.
