Phone rings last night and it's my brothers friend. Apperently he found a turtle wandering around in a parking lot. He figured I was the one to call about this. He brings it by the house and its an adult male eastern box turtle whicj is common around here but not really where it was found. So I have him in a tub at home right now and will be going to Cooke's forest this weekend where I'll be letting him go amoungst that population. My wife thinks its funny that of all people they come to me. This happens more often than most would think. Anybody else out there get this?

I get the police in Worthington, Powell, Upper Arlington and Dublin calling me for "Snake Round Up" about 10 to 15 times a yr. Usually its a boa in the bushes.

But I as well get the family member or friend calling about the poor lost female turtle, out and away from water. Sometimes they still have their eggs and I show them how to feel for them.

When your interest are unique, people dont waste any time thinking of ya for the occasion!

Happens to me too. If there's something covered in scales or fur hiding in someone's trashcan or under their porch I usually get a call

I'm a frog-girl around here, since frogs aren't a usual pet in this area...also get calls and questions from co-workers about tadpoles in the retention pond and bugs and things that crawl in. Its so funny to see people get so worked up over a moth or something so harmless....

Also had to be the one to deal with a poor mother red-bird that smashed herself into our gigantic windows at work. I examined her then washed my hands well....she was flying again in about an hour but definately had a concussion and a horrible head and neck ache! No body else wanted to touch her....So since I have a house full of parrots too I suppose I'm a bird lady as well. lol

Well i managed to get up and released into the Allegheny National Forest this weekend and feelin pretty good about it. Also managed to find and explain a red eft, baby toad, garter snake and a baby finch that lost its way and kinda fell on me while I was laying on a hammock. Great weekend.

I have the same thing happen, but its for herbs. Even strangers seem to come up and ask me random questions. Just last night at the bar waiting for my to-go order, an older couple started asking me about dan-shen and red root. lol
How do they know?!?!

I used to live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. On occasion I would be walking down the street, and tourists would stop me and tell me that since I lived there, could I please tell them where this-and-that was? I have been wondering for twenty years where I was hiding from myself the sign that apparently everyone else could see, that I lived there.

And yep, I have been the spider, salamander, baby bird, loose hamster, lost kitten, puppy-followed-me-home-but Mom-won't-let-me-keep-it-so-can-you-take-it person all my life. At school, in the neighborhoods, at work, on vacation, everywhere.

I was out on a summer-long motorcycle camping trip when I was 21, alone. No tent, just me, a bike, and a sleeping bag. I ran into some folks in Wyoming and they gifted me with a stray kitten which they had seen tossed out of a car on the interstate and rescued. So I took him along, inside my motorcycle jacket. He went motorcycle camping with me for years, and lived to be 16.

But I still don't know where I keep hiding these signs, because I don't see them on me, either, nor do I see any on other folks......

Maybe you have too many animals tattoos squattered around your body? I think that might be the problem with myself anyway;p along with the numerous frog t-shirts
