At first I thought 2 females, but I cleaned up the tank the other day and noticed a slight difference in toepad size. No aggression between the two, but they were raised together. They will probably be 16 months old + next month. Thanks JVK
Edit- My suspect male would be in the background (the one with the lighter blue coloration) I think this might be wishful thinking on my part, as i've seen no interaction between the two.

Whose lineage are they? Are you sure they are oyapok? They both look female, Bill

Hey Jesse, they are just lighter than any oyapok I have seen over the years. However they do look like Pallids, which when I asked some quote Experts in the hobby I was told they are the same, so I don't know. If you e-mail me I can send you a pic of one of my Oyapoks, billschwinn@gmail.com PS- Darren has a good reputation so I would not doubt what he told you, Bill

I'll e-mail you Bill.
Most of the oyapoks I've seen are really black too. I'm really happy with the amount of white on mine. Thinking i'll be posting a want ad for a male or two though.
Darrens frogs are cast-iron. I have never experienced such care-free frogs! I couldn't cram all my praise for his animals in one post! Thanks JVK

Someone told me that the Oyapoks, Pallids & Cayenne are all the same morph.
I've also been told that the Cayenne & Pallids are larger than true Oyapoks.
IMO most of the French Guiana tinc morphs are so close in patterns its like splitting hairs. (not that I promote crossing any morphs)

What's Cayenne? Haven't heard of that one. I've always thought (heard) Pallid and oyapok were synonymous. JVK

I believe Cayenne and Pallid are the same. Oyapoks are smaller from my understanding. Sean Stewart sells Cayenne tincs (don't know of any other breeder with them..although I'm sure they are out there) which are listed as Pallid as well on his site.
I asked if the Cayenne tincs were different from Oyapoks and he said....
"My Cayenne (pallids) tincts are larger than the oyapoks."
Hope this helps.
EDIT:
Cayenne/Pallid tinc from Sean....

Looks pretty oyapok-ish. Bills looks similar. Anyone know where I can dig up an adult male or two that might be more like mine ? I'm not looking forward to spending alot on a bunch of unsexed froglets and waiting. Anyone think these differences are legitimate enough to warrant searching for "Darrens Oyapoks" exclusively? I think i'll try to search his e-mail and ask where his starters came from. ThanksJVK

I remember reading, I think on Saurian Enterprises Website, that these frogs might be slightly sexually dimorphic, with males having a whiter coloration. Seems unlikely in my frogs case.
Anyways, I'll see if Darren writes me back.
This seems more of a DB topic, but I must be Grand Dragon Frog Felon or something weird, because I can't get that forum to work on my computer for nothin' ! JVK

WANTED: Male or two Oyapoks.
Never heard back from Darren on what line I have, maybe I had the wrong e-mail. If anyone knows Darren personally etc. I would be most appreciative if they could find out for me.
I've had about 5 DB profiles by now, but the forum "forgets" them in about 4 days, otherwise I would ask there.
Bill, I've thought about getting some of your froglets advertised on DB, but really don't want to mix lines. I was under the impression that this morph didn't have multiple bloodlines, just confusion as far as physical discrepancies/locale confusion. If anyone can help me out, thanks a bunch! JVK

I am most certainly looking Bill, but considering the confusion with lines/morphs, I have become very stubborn in keeping with frogs that are the same line as mine. If I find that Darrens frogs are the same as Seans, I'll snatch up a bunch from you in a heartbeat. Don't suppose you have any subadult sexed males do ya? JVK

I need some help folks, I know the photos suck, but this is the male I got today. From a european line, and same as Eds Fly Meat Line. I ordered him sight unseen, had assumed Eds Fly Meat would have the same frogs as Darren (where mine came from) as they are pretty good buddies at shows etc.
I don't feel I should put him in with either of my girls. What should I do. I'm really disappointed and have no idea why I didn't ask for pics. Don't get me wrong, he's a gorgeous frog, but a polar opposite of my girls. HELP!

I don't want to throw this big Nubian sucka in with my girls! What should I do Bill? JVK
Ps He's quite a bit larger
Also I might add that I can get a female of the same line as the male if need be.

LOL!
Well, I think the whole Oyapok/Cayenne/Pallid debate is over as Sean S. was the only one selling the Cayenne/Pallids and he recently started selling them as Oyapok with the same pic.
They are probaby the same morph. If you are really concerned of this sucka being too big....get some real Oyapoks from Bill.

Thanks goth, maybe Darren selected for whiter frogs? Also, I might add that I DID select the whitest frogs out of the tank when I bought these (last August).
The pattern is totally different, you have to admit. Mine have large "polka dots" whereas most pics I've seen (Bills, Yours, Kevin Moser -who I got the male from-etc, etc, etc) seems to possess "striping".
The size difference is a little weird, I wonder if I under-supplemented my females?
EDIT_ This is what Kevin e-mailed me "I have never seen ones like yours, too much solid white and to light of legs. Dose there white have a bit of yellow in there? Mine are European and Dave from Ed’s fly meat lines"
" just have never in my long yeas ever seen poc’s looking like yours."
It seems maybe I'm making a mountain over a molehill?
Bill didn't have any sexed males, but I think his are more oyapokish than this big 'ole sunufabitch!

Thanks Tony, appreciate it. Hopefully he will say his are just line bred for color and the male I have will be fine. That will free up my remaining female for a closer match from Darrens stock. JVK

Darren's Oyapock are from Todd Kelley, whose frogs are from the original import. He said to email him again if you have any more questions, and he does have a bunch for sale.
