Hey Everyone,

I have had this WTF for 6 ish years. She's always been very healthy.

I feel like she has been a little different now the past 1-2 weeks so I'm a little worried. I can't think of anything that has changed in her care/habitat/etc that would cause this. Also, I'm not sure if what I am noticing is really a big deal or not... but now I'm having dreams about her dying. So any advice is helpful.

-Lately, she has been of a very dark color skin.
-She has been hanging around the bottom of the tank more, instead of up on top of her hammock to sleep.
-She also has been awake during the day now, which usually she would be asleep. The tank has been on a light timer for years and she was very in sync with the schedule.
-Yesterday, she was trying to sleep under the water dish... weird.

-She has NO trouble still catching crickets.
-I did notice a little like baby cricket crawling on her skin this morning. I assume they have hatched in the eco earth and one was just on her. But let me know if that is bad and what I should do!

-There are now no live plants in the tank, just fake, because they wilted and died and I took them out.
-I keep the dirt moist and don't really spritz too often.

So, any thoughts? What should I do? Steps to take immediately? Things to watch for?

I'm going to upload some pics right now...

Also, a few years ago there was a Vet on here that did some internet/mail order medicines. Is he still around to help?

Thanks.

the following pictures were all taken just now...

If it's been a while since you did a whole tank clean go ahead and do that.
Has there been any change in ambient room temperature or new bulbs? Move the tank?
Usually burrowing means they're hot.

Oh, when I cut the hopper legs from crickets I cut the oviductors too.

It has been a few months since I have done a whole tank clean. I will do that. Stupid question, but when you say whole tank clean, do you mean removing EVERYTHING, washing with bleach, etc?

It could be a little warm... as its NYC and the heat is just controlled by one building system. It usually stays around 75 degrees, but its possible it has gotten a little warmer with winter heating going on. Perhaps in the night while I'm sleeping it fluctuates more than I know...

I have never cut things off crickets, because I am pretty scared of touching them, but what is your method of doing that? God I'd love to get rid of their noise making capabilities!!!! lol

Feeding tongs and scissors. I put them in the feeding tank and use tongs to break the hopper legs. I pick the females up by the tip of the oviductors and cut that off, males get their wings cut off so I don't deal with noise. It's time consuming but worth it IMO. Be quick if they try to get away. Or you could get Dubia roaches and tong feed them. Do you have a temp gun or the gauges inside it? What's the humidity?
