@Dispiacere: I'm fairly confident my frogs didn't actually have chytrid and they went through the treatment fine. As long as you do it properly they won't be harmed, whether they have the fungus or not.

Thanks for the timely response, I shall start him on it soon then. I got him almost a year ago when he refused to eat for months on end from someone. Turned out they didn't give him a heat source, almost a year later he eats from my hand and is almost doubled in size.

If this frog hasn't been exposed to any other frogs in a year and you aren't going to expose him to any in future it may not matter if he is a carrier or not. It has obviously not affected him even when he was in poor condition. But, treating him won't really hurt either.

Oh, and don't forget to sterilize his terrarium and all the contents before disposing.

I re-read your original post...sorry I missed the part about the new frogs being your reason to treat your current frog. But, the tree frogs can have it also, so be ready to treat them just to be safe.

How safe is the lamisil treatment to use on him if he doesn't have it?
I just finished treating my whole collection of frogs, I treated everything from pacman frogs to dart frogs and it went fine.

My only frog that didn't like the Lamisil treatment was "Bridget" my Budgett's Frog. She didn't like the Aquatic frog version of the Lamisil Baths. So I treated her like the other frogs, and that went much better. I doubt that it was harming her, but she was stressing out.

I probably will, im waiting til I go to a convention coming up in January to get them hoping they may have taken extra precautions.
