Hi, it has been a long time, since i have been on the forum.

So, i have had 2 whites tree frogs for over three years now. But i added a third one and all of a sudden it died. I told the place i got it from about the news and they gave me a refund. Over the next few weeks my two original frogs started to act very weird. They both died within about a month apart. The smaller one first and the second one last. Very sad! I'm pretty sure that it was a infection of some sort that the new frog carried in. SO, i would like to hear some recommendations about how to clean the tank. It is a 18x18x24 inch exo Terra with a foam background.
I'm not sure if ill get more whites tree frogs or some more active frogs like some darts (i know how to care for darts, i have 2) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bring the exoterra and put it in the bath tub. Add a squirt of dish soap (I use Dawn) and a splash of bleach and some hot water. Scrub the tank down. Rinse really well. Rinse really well again. Leave the tank to air dry for a few days.

I personally don't like the foam background that come with the exoterras, so I'm going to suggest throwing it out, in case there is nasties lurking on it.

Quarantining frogs is very important. Regular quarantine for amphibians is 3 months to 1 year, depending on where you've gotten your frogs from, and whether or not you are putting them in an established enclosure.

SORRY EVERYONE COULDNT FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE A NEW POST, BUT HAD AN IMPORTANT QUESTION! slightly concerned, while feed my firebellies mealworms this evening. one of them darted at my hand and picked up a piece of gravel instead. (a pink-purple rock) before i could take the piece out of its mouth, he swallowed it. from what i gathered from the part sticking out, it was roughly small-medium cricket sized. not much i can do at this point is there? if someone can respond ide appreciate them being sent to kroberts009@yahoo.com thank you!

Ok thanks for the reply! (I made a foam background myself) so do you think i should scrape it off or just clean the background thoroughly?

Remove anything that is absorbent. If you can burn it, you don't want it leaching disease into your local populations.

Nature has no mercy, people have the option.
