Yeah I was wondering if anyone here has read the book "Mantellas" by Marc Staniszewski ? I'd like to hear your thoughts on it (was it really informative?)
Thanks Steve

I will say it is the best book on mantellas that I have found so far.. but there is not a lot of competition out there. Alot of the information is dated a bit and vague.. You can find most of the information in the book with some searching on the net now, but it is a worthy read for a fan of mantellas.

Thanks Tim, I'm going to be buying it in the next few days and wanted to make sure it's worth the cost ($40.00). I plan on getting some Mantellas in year or less (as long as I can persuade the old lady to let me set up another tank)

Yeah.. I borrowed a friends and read it, but it was good enough that I purchased a copy after reading it.

Mantellas are great frogs and very under appreciated.. You will certainly enjoy them if you get some.

A cool fact for you..
Mantella laevigata is a completely aboreal frog, laying eggs in holes or nooks in trees. If the hole fills with water, the tad will hatch and morph normally, but.. if the hole doesn't fill with water.. the tads will not hatch. Instead they develop and morph inside the egg mass hatching as a froglet..

Yeah I've always thought Mantellas were pretty cool frogs, I really like Mantella madagascariensis and the Mantella cowani and thanks for that fact about Mantella laevigata, I didn't know that (that's a pretty neat fact though).

I have 4 Golden Mantellas, and they are just great. Always on the move and always doing something.
